About the Job
We are hiring a dependable, detail-oriented professional to take ownership of our company fleet, ensuring DOT compliance, vehicle safety, and mechanical readiness.

We have established systems, processes, and third-party support in place to maintain a high standard across our operations. This role is responsible for taking over the day-to-day management of the fleet using those systems, keeping everything compliant, organized, and running properly without disruption.

This is not a sit back and observe role. You will be expected to take ownership, maintain standards, and address issues before they impact operations.

You will work alongside our in-house technician and detail manager to maintain a safe, reliable fleet.

You will be responsible for a mid-sized, professionally maintained fleet of late model buses, SUVs, sedans, and specialty vehicles that operate daily in a structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Maintain full DOT compliance across all vehicles, records, and required documentation.
  •  Manage and execute preventative maintenance schedules.
  •  Coordinate repairs with in-house technician and outside vendors, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  •  Conduct routine inspections to verify the safety and mechanical condition of all vehicles.
  •  Ensure vehicles are clean, properly equipped, and ready for service each day.
  •  Track and document all maintenance, inspections, and compliance items.
  •  Identify safety risks and take immediate corrective action.
  •  Monitor and resolve driver-reported issues quickly and effectively.
  •  Maintain organized, audit-ready files for fleet and compliance documentation.
  •  Support incident reporting and follow up when necessary.
  •  Operate within established systems and processes to maintain consistency and efficiency.

Qualifications:
  •  Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience in DOT compliance within a transportation or fleet environment.
  •  Strong working knowledge of DOT regulations, inspections, and recordkeeping requirements.
  •  Thorough mechanical knowledge of vehicles, including diesel and gas systems.
  •  Experience working with large vehicles, buses, or fleet operations.
  •  Ability to identify mechanical issues and understand repair needs, including coordination with outside vendors.
  •  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  •  Ability to manage multiple priorities without constant supervision.
  •  Comfortable using software systems to track maintenance, inspections, and compliance.
  •  Strong communication skills and ability to hold standards with drivers and vendors.

What We Expect:
You take ownership of the fleet and keep it operating at a high standard. You use the systems and processes in place, combined with your experience, to ensure compliance, safety, and reliability every day.

What We Offer:
  •  Competitive pay based on experience.
  •  Bonus opportunities based on performance.
  •  Health insurance options.
  •  Retirement plan opportunities.
  •  Stable, growing company with consistent work.
